WHERE ARE YOU BASED / HOW FAR WILL YOU TRAVEL?
I’m based in Hampshire (SO21 1SB, half way between Winchester and Southampton) and am available for weddings all over the mainland UK. Travel expenses are included if your wedding is held within 100 miles of my base. If your wedding is further afield, please get in touch for a quote, I’m always happy to travel.
HOW DO WE BOOK?
To secure your date I require a £150 booking fee along with a completed contract. After this I’ll send you out a receipt letter. The remaining balance is payable after I have finished retouching your images. If you like, we can arrange a phone call or zoom meeting to discuss your wedding requirements.
I DON’T LIVE NEAR YOU, CAN WE DO A ZOOM MEETING?
Yes, of course! It’s a great alternative if you live miles away!
HOW LONG IS YOUR COVERAGE?
The packages I offer are either an hourly rate that you can vary (shorten or extend) as your wedding day progresses, or a 2 hour or 10 hour package. Typically, the 10 hour package will be sufficient to capture your full wedding day (from the bride/groom preparations right up until the first dance). In the case of the 2 or 10 hour packages, they can also be extended on your wedding day if desired.
HOW MANY PHOTOS WILL WE RECEIVE?
This is largely dependant on what happens on the day as well as the length of time that I am shooting for, plus summer weddings (with the longer days / evenings) tend to allow more images to be captured (on a winter wedding with the shorter day, we will be inside more and there is only so many photos I can take of people talking and drinking). As a rough guide, a 2 hour wedding shoot will result in about 200+ images, a 10 hour wedding shoot will lead to more like 700+ images – but quality is always more important than quantity, so I don’t shoot in machine-gun mode just to boost up these numbers !!
WILL WE MEET YOU BEFORE THE BIG DAY?
Whenever physically possible, I would like to meet up with you before your wedding day to finalise your details (talking through your ideas and answer any questions you may have, ensuring your wedding day runs smoothly) – but this is also easily achieved via a zoom meeting.
HOW LONG WILL IT BE BEFORE WE CAN SEE OUR PICTURES?
I guarantee that I will complete the retouching work on your images and have them ready to deliver to you within 7 days of your wedding. I will then upload a copy of low resolution preview images with my watermark logo into your on-line wedding gallery on my web site (which your guests and family can also view), then send you my invoice, and as soon as this has been paid in full, you will receive a link to download the full resolution images on-line, plus a backup copy on DVD(s) or USB via post. If you have decided to purchase an album, you can select your favorites for the album directly from your on-line gallery.
DO WE HAVE TO POSE FOR PICTURES?
I hate posing for pictures too (which is exactly why I chose to hide BEHIND my camera lens). Posing isn’t natural and I don’t think it looks natural either. My style is all about capturing the real people and the joy of your wedding day in a candid way, but there is a place for semi-posed images for the family / close friends group shots if desired.
DO YOU STILL DO THE TRADITIONAL GROUP SHOTS?
Whilst my style lends itself to unposed photography, I’m still happy to do around 8-12 traditional groups, this will take between 20 – 30 minutes depending on group size, location and the weather. it’s usually best to do these before anybody gets a chance to get to the bar! I won’t make you have these kind of group photos if you don’t want to.
CAN WE MAKE OUR OWN PRINTS FROM THE USB?
Yes, I fully encourage you to do so. You can print images from the USB for personal use, the only limitation is that the images cannot be used for commercial purposes. If you would like to purchase prints from me, you or your guests can order them from your personal gallery in various sizes – please contact me for a quotation.
CAN MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY BUY PICTURES?
I don’t sell your wedding images to anyone. If your family, friends and guests would like a digital copy of any of your images, I would kindly request that they contact you directly, for you to send the requested images to them. Of course, they can order digital prints from me, making their selection from your on-line gallery.
ARE YOU INSURED?
Yes, I’m fully insured for public liability and professional indemnity, as well as having all my equipment insured.
HOW DOES THE ALBUM DESIGN PROCESS WORK?
After you have viewed and picked your images, I design your album layout, to ensure that it accurately reflects the events of your day. This layout is a draft that you proof through the online gallery ( password protected ). This process takes about four to five weeks.
