Mohammed Murad retired as a Lt. Colonel in 2003 after a 20-year career with the Dubai Police Force. He then went on to gain more than 27 years of experience in Director and CEO roles in the fields of emergency medical services management, human resources development and strategic planning, before setting up and running Zareena – one of the largest wedding event companies in the Middle East (named after his wife, Emirati designer Zareena Yousif, who is one of the top fashion clothing designers in Dubai).
Zareena plans and then builds extremely large and lavish wedding sets for their affluent clients, and Mohammed commissioned me to take these images of one such wedding set at a private villa in Al Ain.
I would love to have photographed the wedding itself afterwards, but under Islamic law, only a female Photographer is permitted to do this (and no, they wouldn’t let me put on a skirt, make-up and a sports bra to get round this).
